About Us

Great people doing great work for great clients for a great cause!

Meet Our Team

Our philosophy is what makes us different.

We are a growing locally based business with an honest and holistic approach to managing your wildlife removal and prevention needs. We offer our clients humane solutions to getting rid of animals who have taken up uninvited residency in their homes and businesses.

Our solutions are effective, preserving the environment and honoring the lives and needs of all involved. We will figure out how the animals are getting in, making sure they are out, and ensuring they will not get back in. We never use poisons or kill traps.

Poisoned mice and rats pose serious harmful ecological and environmental consequences. Rodenticides take 12 hours to 4 days to kill rodents, giving them plenty of time to travel. Poisoned rodents are picked off by owls, hawks, snakes, domestic cats and more. Scavengers who each the poisoned predators are then affected, and the harm continues.

All of our solutions involve a variety of repairs and exclusion materials, permanently ensuring animals cannot re-enter your home. As a result, clients no longer need traditional pest control methods, such as poisons or kill traps or post-trapping euthanasia.

Live traps are used, as needed, to ensure animals are out of your home. Our technicians are certified Wildlife Damage Control Agents licensed through the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.  North Carolina state law prohibits unlawful trapping of wildlife and only a certified WDCA's can issue a depredation permit to allow the trapping and transport of wildlife that is causing property damage.

We specialize in mice, rats, squirrels, flying squirrels, bats, birds, snakes, opossums and raccoons. We also do remediation - cleaning-up of animal waste and droppings.

Often animals have done extensive damage and there are more involved repairs needed to permanently resolve the problem. As skilled handymen and carpenters we can manage your animal-related damage and improvements.

Founder’s Story

Eric has been a wildlife lover since he was born. He received his B.S. in biology from Florida State where his studies focused on ecology, snakes and birds. While at Florida State he studied the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpecker and participated in bird banding and migratory bird research. A little later in life while in yoga teacher training, he learned the term “ahimsa” which means nonviolence towards all living beings.

Eric noticed copperheads and other snakes being killed indiscriminately in his neighborhood and along trails he loved to hike. His experiences and observations became a point of inspiration. He began offering snake removal and education as an antidote to public fear. He pondered, “Why kill if you don’t have to?” This work grew into Humane Homes Wildlife Removal. Our team is dedicated to delivering no-harm solutions for wildlife issue affecting the home or business structures. We exclusively use passive eviction and trapping to evict and removal wildlife. Animals are not “humanely killed” or taken off-site to be euthanized which is the predominant practice in Wildlife Control. We consider the stress on all involved to develop and continue to improve our practices and impact. Humane Homes is so happy to offer answers that address all angles of human-wildlife conflicts centered in the home, answers that work for all living creatures involved. We will get them out and make sure they cannot get back in.
